Hands down the best place I have found in Missouri for sunsets and sunrises, and you can see miles and miles away from the top of Hughes Mountain.
Located 10 miles south of Potosi in Washington County.
The entire mountain top is covered with individual sections of rock columns. The rhyolite formed as lava cooled to near 900 degree Celsius and began contracting, forming the columnar jointing of the samples. The rock in this area, which is the core of the top of a volcano, is 1.3 billion years

btw, did you get any shots from the resovoir brake? i was planning on going down to the shutins to get some shots, but was told that you cant get in, you have any info on the situation?

Not Tomsauk, Hughes Mountain which in my opinion much better than Tomsauk
The exposure was 2 seconds at F22
I have not had a chance to photograph the resovoir or the shutins, but it is really hard to access these places at this time but you can volunteer to help clean up on the state park website
